I have various Seagate drives (15) and haven’t had a single issue with one. I used this as another parity drive for my unRAID server which I already had 3 other 12TB IronWolf Pro’s (and 1 12TB Toshiba) and 4 6TB IronWolf’s. No issues so far and it’s performance is excellent.

unRAID is not a RAID system so there is no need for a "space" calculator. You see, with a RAID Level you have different forms of redundancy. RAID5, for example, distributes the Parity information on each of the included devices and therefore you don't have access to that part of the disks which reduced the overall storage space you have available.

Perhaps its smart enough to reduce the stripe width by the one missing drive and still store the second parity. People don't give ZFS enough credit for its complex yet elegant design.
Sep 05, 2016 · When a parity raid (5, 6, etc) rebuilds, there are a 2 things that happen: the data from the missing disk has to be restored (from the parity bits on the other disks) and all the missing parity bits for every other disk have to be written to this disk as well, so it is going like crazy over the other disks during the rebuild.
